I just finished reading "Computer power and human reason" by the awesome and fantastic and I-wish-he-was-still-alive Weizenbaum, and I love that you talk so precisely about him. I am also often thinking that my faith in humanity, although I am incredibly pessimistic at this point in time, is far greater than that of the majority of the technologists pushing for these new tools. It is, indeed, despairing to see how we are chipping away, away, away at our autonomy and self confidence, how passive we are against the narrative of "innovation". Regulation will be toothless and just another patch, until we decouple the concepts of innovation and profit (here's to wishful thinking). Again, thanks
